He does this when he is feeling affectionate, he only does it to me and no-one else in the household. I have tried ; gently lifting his paws off me onto something else, firmly expressing my dislike of it and removing him from my lap.
Is there something deeper behind this behaviour? He is a 3 year old rescue cat and we have had him 2 years. He is usually quite chilled and very affectionate...it's just...the bloody claws - ouch.
