We have one neutered rabbit named Chase who stays in our main room in our flat, free roam with a large cage for night time. We recently took home an un-neutered boy Dexter, who we put in a separate cage in the main room when we first took him home. We let them out at separate times and they would occasionally groom each other under close supervision and also sit near each other and sniff each other through their cages. There was an incident where Dexter nipped Chase during a little scuffle so we thought we’d try separating them in different rooms and wait until Dexter is neutered before we put them in the same room. Dexter seems more relaxed in the separate room, but has always been quite uninterested in being petted. He did binky and lie down in both rooms, and is maybe a bit more friendly and chilled in the new room. We just worry that Dexter is lonely as he isn’t very interested in humans and he’s the only rabbit in that room. Chase is very friendly and well bonded with myself and my partner. We are not sure whether to try and put Chase and Dexter back together in one big cage (with a separation). Or keep them separated for a few more months until Dexter has been neutered as well. Would really appreciate any advice or opinions here, thank you!
