So last night I found a young cat while I was out walking my two other cats (not on a leash, they just need supervised outdoor time because one gets in fights with other cats and the other is a young female waiting for spaying appointment). I put my cats up and went back out to get this cat. She came to me easily and seemed hungry. I brought her inside and fed her and posted on Facebook about a found cat. A few hours later her owners were found. I got proof that it’s their cat but When they came to pick her up I asked what her name was and she’s said she didn’t have a name and they just called her kitty. They also said that she wanders a lot but never this far. It bothered me a bit but I let it go. I did warn them that there is at least one intact male in the area and they kind of shrugged it off. She’s a barn cat but it seems there son is at least somewhat attached and she is very friendly.
Tonight when I was out with the cats and she came running up to me again. It was almost dark so I brought her in. Right now my plan is to let her go in the morning and she can make her way home but I’m really considering just keeping her and getting her fixed myself. But I don’t want to steal a loved cat... anyone have any opinions?
