Hello
I'm getting a pet rat tomorrow. I've done a ton of research and I'm ready to welcome a new friend into my home :) Here's a run down of whats happening: I'm getting a small female rat from a pet store. They keep the boys with the girls, so the only thing I can do is cross my fingers she wont be pregnant (although I think it's unlikely because it'll be young).
The young/small rats at the pet store are pretty fast, and that's my biggest concern. I don't want it getting away from me the first day I buy it. There aren't any places for it to crawl into the walls or anything, but I don't want it getting under the bed. So my question to everyone is what should I expect when I bring my rat home, and how do I make it comfortable in the first few days? Do I leave it in its cage, or take it out?
I'm also a guitar player. I play both electric and acoustic. I also play trumpet. Will this bug my rat?
