Basically, my wife's grandparents died and we decided to bring their cat into our home. The cat is, let's say, anti social. The cat doesn't clean itself.. We have two other cats she does not get along with. She just runs and hides under the couch or any small area. She will just stay there until we move the couch, she will poop and pee under there. We decided to move her to the attic so she has her own room.
Took her to the vet the other day to get her matted fur off. They said she has ear mites and stage 4 tooth decay on most of her remaining teeth - which explains the lack of cleaning (hopefully).
She eats good and goes to the bathroom regularly.
But basically this surgery is going to cost about 1,100 dollars and we really can't afford that in this point of our lives.
My question is
Do you have any tips to make this cats life better? Is there any form of assistance with a situation like this? We will have the money someday, but this is like a situation that needs taken care of now, she is in pain. Is there anything you can think of that will help me? I really hope this surgery helps her. I might sound weird but she smells awfully bad. Do vets clean pets? It seems impossible to bath this cat. Just really stressed.. thanks!
