Advice on how to help a senior cat moving ?

Hi ! I'm going to have (sadly) to leave my older cat (13) to my folks in a few months, we figured out that it would be better if he spent some time with his new family. He went there a few day ago and he is slowly adapting to it's new environment making steady progress. The new house is way bigger and nicer and a lot of cat lovers lives there ! We spend days on and off with him, always leaving at least one of us with him in his new house so he don't feel abandonned.

Now the question: Since we have a few months when we could have him in our house, we don't know if it's better that we take it back or just leave him there ?.. we're afraid that all progress would be loss if we take it back to his usual home.

Thank you so much for reading me
