My mother has always preferred animals over people. It’s gotten excessive, though. She has an upwards of 30 cats and 4 dogs. The house is filthy, and similar to a hamster cage in smell/flooring. Barely half of the cats are fixed and therefore only creating more and more animals. I’ve seen countless kittens pass from fleas and respiratory infections due to poor environment. My mother cannot keep up, she is torn emotionally and physically. This is extremely unhealthy and those animals deserve better. My mother is unwillingly accepting that she needs to get rid of her animals, but the problem is how? I live in a different town and it’s hell going over there. I don’t drive, I recently lost my job, and have no current income. Same with my mother. I’ve been looking online, but I feel lost. I don’t know what to do. I’m tired of seeing both my mother and these innocent animals suffer. I refuse to dump them. Does anyone have any advice? I am not asking for any financial assistance, just advice on what to do.
