My boyfriend's family gifted him a kitten yesterday. Unfortunatley they don't know about my cat's illness so they got one that seems to be healthy (he's still a baby so we can't be sure).
My cat only showed symptoms when he was around 5 weeks old, that's when he got diagnosed. He's two years old now and it never happened again.
He was housed with a healthy cat for a year and she never caught it but I was really paranoid every time he sneezed (for unrelated reasons like dust).
I know herpes is fatal only in rare cases and when Zigi will meet Teo he'll be an adult so even if he'd get it it wouldn't be as bad as it could be if he'd get it as a kitten but we still don't want to risk it.
Can we get them vaccinated to eliminate that risk?
