Ok, so I've never owned a pet before but I've been thinking of getting one for a while. The problem is that I do not want one that will smell up the place or shed a lot because I live with 3 roommates. This would include any droppings.
Also, as a first time pet owner, I'd want to do a "test run" with a pet which doesn't require too much upkeep so I don't accidentally hurt it through neglect. And while it might sound callous.
What options do I have?
