My Cat From Hell is so aggravating to watch

Context about the show: it’s about a dude helping cat owners with their cats that have behavioral issues (sometimes neurological for a couple of cats)

This is a tiny bit like a rant so I hope that’s okay here. I may have to check the rules again. Anyways, as the title suggests, the show can be annoying. I love the dude on there and find the show as some good advice for me since I’ll be a cat owner soon but man, do the cat owners annoy me.

Like seriously, so much of the behavioral issues they have with their cats are the result of the cat owners who don’t do basic research. Even me, a dog owner, knew some of this stuff without looking anything up.

“My cat scratches up my furniture.”

Maybe buy a cat scratcher.

“My cat attacked my feet.”

Try a mouse toy to exert their energy on.

“My cat knocks over my stuff and wants to get inside everything.”

There are cat climbing trees and platforms for them to walk on as well as interact with.

“My cat has never acted the same after a freak accident.”

Maybe you should check with your vet to see if they’re fine.

Not to mention, the owners be mad disrespectful sometimes. One person straight up yelled at their cat, “THIS IS A PUNISHMENT,” like chill fam, that’s a cat, not a dog and even if your pet was a dog, that ain’t it.

I feel like this all comes from the misconceptions surrounding cats. For instance, thinking their cat is a dog, cats are independent beings who lay around, etc. I find this to be really toxic as this can make cats seem like an awful pet to have when they aren’t if you treated them right.

I hope this wasn’t too long and will push people to do their research with not just cats, but literally any pet they’re getting for the first time. It can be really dangerous as you’ve seen/you can see by the cats in the show. Pretty please, do y’alls research!
