My cat is extremely aggressive towards all dogs (attacked me and bf)

In November of 2020 me and my bf adopted an 8 month old domestic shorthair tripod named Loki from a shelter. I asked the shelter if they knew what had happened for him to lose his right front leg and they told me they had no clue, the last shelter that had him didn’t tell them what happened. But overall he was the sweetest and cuddliest guy ever!

Fast forward to New Years. Me and my bf bring our cat along to visit my mum’s house. She lives there with my twin brother with two dogs (a Scottish terrier and a west highland terrier). As I’m arriving I text my brother to keep them safely away and entertained in a separate room. To this, my mum complains and says “Loki needs to be introduced to the dogs”. Me and my bf looked at each other in disagreement with my mum. Both of us assuming that being he’s a cat, it would probably be best not to.

The door the dogs are in gets opened. The dogs bolt towards my cat. My cat immediately hisses, snorts, and attacks my boyfriend in the face. He bit his scalp, both of his eyelids, then went on to attack me; biting through some fingers and my hand. We had a safe box in tow and put our cat in and took him home. Loki sulked for the rest of the night. The both of us had to go to the clinic. I needed antibiotics. I have never seen a cat act so murderously violent towards dogs. I wouldn’t doubt that a dog hurt him.

Question: Would there by any chance be any way to get our cat used to dogs or should I not bother trying?
