Red Ear Slider Question

Hello, I have a 20 year old RES and he hasn't been shedding as much lately or at all. He has plenty of UVB light for basking, clean water and gets a healthy diet. His shell isn't like the most pristine shell ever but its doesn't look bad to me. It just like a darkish brown color with some patterns to it, there isn't any forming out of it or anything.

His plastron also has some brown spots forming on it, it just some brown spots. Like there isn't any abrasion or anything, it just some spots forming, not bumps or anything, like its just seems like a color change.

I was thinking its because he's getting up there in age, that's he not getting any cuter and he isn't getting any bigger.

But I can't seem to find anything about this in regards to an older turtle, only information for people with younger turtles. Nothing has changed in the way he eats, sleeps, basks or his tank setup for the past 5 years other than getting a bigger filter.

He is 7-8 inches and has a 75 gallon tank with a custom basking area above with both a UVB "swamp" bulb and a regular LED light just to give some light to the tank. He has a large canister filter with, everything that is needed. Just put in last cleaning an activated carbon bag at the top and some more filter rings for biological filtration. And he has a really nice heater that I got last year that I keep at around 75 f.

Any help is appreciated.
