Was playing with my family's English Bulldog outside, now he can't put weight on his back hind left leg.

This is my parents dog but im deathly close to him. He is about a year and half old.

Me and him were playing and messing around outside. And I was throwing a toy for him. I threw the toy and it bounded a little further then usual into this dry dirt area in my backyard. Their are a lot of pricklys there and he reacted like something pricked his foot. And now he is having a really hard time standing up and does not wanna put weight on his foot at all. I went and looked over where he stepped and I got my foot pricked pretty much immediately. I'm just wonder if something so minute can have my dog react like this. He is currently up in bed but he will not lay down.

I showed my father but he wants to wait til morning to call/see the vet, Idk what to do and I'm honestly just really worried for my dog. Any help or advice would be great rn.

Edit: we checked his back left leg and he had pretty much no bad reaction to it at all. Wasn't acting up and didn't have any reaction like in pain.
