Hello,
I am on adoption trial for a cat, he’s a wonderful tabby approximately 2 y/o. The ACC where I adopted him has in-house doctors, but are limited in their resources. They detected a heart murmur on their initial checkup upon taking him in, but don’t have any further info (I need to go to a “real” vet for further clarification). They said it could just be because he was stressed out during the doctor checkup (understandable). He is also a 6/9 on the BCS scale.
Is there anything I should specifically ask at the vet? Do lots of cats have heart murmurs that are benign? I just don’t want to adopt a cat that might have a serious underlying condition that I am not fully equipped to take care of. Thanks!
