Hi all,
Looking for advice because we have this great cat, but for whatever reason the cat behaves completely differently when me and my fiancee are together, vs when one of us is gone.
When it's just one of us with the cat (doesnt matter which), he follows us around, he lays on the couch, he's sweet, and relaxed. When we're together, he's distant, he hides, and he'll only come hang out when one of us leaves the apartment or goes to the bathroom.
It's causing some friction as we each cant help but subconsciously wonder if something the other is doing is alienating the cat, and we realized its caused way more tension in our relationship than we thought.
I'd love to be able to diagnose and remedy this, because currently it feels like the cat is manipulative and it's leading us to suspect if perhaps he'd rather have a home where he gets the attention he wants, because my fiancee and I have no plans to part ways.
Really any help is welcome, and understand there may be some initial "why would you consider rehoming over something so trivial" or "cat is going to cat". Really hoping for something that helps us out though.
