They’ve never had the best relationship, but they tolerate each other, as they’re an inside cat and an outside dog. It took a while my cat to gain trust around her, and though she’s still a little nervous about playtime, they still follow each other around when they’re together.
Last Saturday (a week ago) we took my dog for a haircut and a pregnancy consult. With this new season coming, instead of a haircut she got a shave, which made her look fresh and very different. Also, you could clearly tell she’s pregnant without all that hair.
As soon as we got back home, we decided to have her a snack inside the house. The cat came downstairs and became instantly hissy, clinging on to my sister’s back. Her spine was as curled as possible and her tail got frizzy.
It’s been a week now, and though they see each other through the window, my cat’s behavior when they’re close in the same room hasn’t changed.
Could it be that the cat doesn’t recognize the dog bc of the haircut or is at about her pregnancy?
