Little bit of back story. We have 2 dogs, 3 cats. Recently just got a 3 year old from a rescue. He is a shepherd/husky mix, one of the sweetest dogs you'd ever meet. Curls up next/on you and gives you the cutest look. Unfortunately he isn't the same to the cats.
He's had a few problems where he would see the cat, either near him or across the room, and sprint full force at them. We have a small shih tzu (16 years old) dog also that he doesn't even look at. He has a 1 year old hound mix he has to play with but we can't seem to get him to give up the cats.
He just ran after one of them, knocking over a TV, breaking it, and then continuing to go after the cat like nothing happened. I feel that he wouldn't be able to be trusted alone in the house with them or him not locked in a room.
Pinch collars he just pulls at over and over at. E-collars it takes upwards of 110+ on the power level (don't 100% know the scientific unit of measurements) to even make his react to it. We are looking to get him into a training class that we did for our 1 year old pup, but was looking for any tips or advice in the mean time.
