Question for kitty breeders-- what would motivate you to sell a kitten at a lower price?

My kitten came from reputable and registered breeders specializing in Scottish Folds and British Shorthairs. Beautiful kittens, each going for around $1500 a piece.

However, these breeders who sold us our tiny terror only charged us $200 WITH neutering and a clean bill of health. This was confirmed later by our vet. He wasn't seen anywhere in their main FB page (although his siblings were) but instead listed on a second hand online selling website. I know I should have asked those questions, but the breeders were already annoyed when I messaged them to confirm the birth date of my kitten.

I am grateful for how everything worked out for us, but why would they reduce the price for less than a quarter for a perfectly healthy kitten? I am at a loss, Google won't help. Reddit, you are my last hope!
