I see a lot of posts about that declawing cats is so bad and inhumane but I was wondering why specifically? Growing up, we had owned a couple cats and my family got them both declawed once they scratched my baby brothers face (not out of anger or fear or anything just a pure accident) that left him with a scar. When we did so, they never seemed to mind, never developed any behavior problems, litter problems, or any of the other things I’ve read about.
I’m not looking to do this because I don’t own a cat and aren’t looking to get one, I am just asking purely out of curiosity since my family and I never saw it cause any problems in my kitties growing up.
