when my cat was younger she would often come sit on my chest and scratch, she stopped doing it, however, when she gets pregnant (this is the second time) she will approach me for love and care (at least that's what i assume) which is what i give her until she decides to walk away.
thing is she loves to scratch my top when she comes, she would sit on me while i am on my pc and scratch my top, i know that she isn't at least sharpening her claws because she would purr. a lot. and when i feel that her purring became excited i would notice that some very drops of liquid burst out from her usually on my hand when i pet her, not sure from her mouth or nose.
