My girlfriend and I are going on an 11 day trip and are trying to decide what we should do with our cat. Is leaving her at home for 11 days with an automatic feeder and access to water with a friend checking in regularly adequate enough? My girlfriend is concerned with our cat being lonely and bored. Would having a friend check-in every couple of days be sufficient to prevent her from getting bored? How frequent and how long should our friend check-in?
Our other option is to leave her at my girlfriend's mom's place, but she would have to travel, stay somewhere unfamiliar, and would be around other pets. Though she would get more attention with that option, that seems more stressful overall for her. Is there another suggestion for what would be best for our cat?
