My cat might have stomach cancer, and we cant afford any treatments, Is it cruel to try and keep her alive for as long as possible?

My 6, turning 7 childhood cat is in the vets right now, they found a mass in her stomach and they think it is cancer. We cant afford treatments such as radiotherapy and my mum says she doesn't want her to suffer, is it cruel to try and keep her alive? I really don't want her to die and if she does have stomach cancer, is there any other cheaper treatments, or does it just prolong the pain. I don't know, this feels terrible, especially when she is my fist cat.
