Hi all,
On Sunday my mom found a sweet little dog (I believe he is Pomeranian mixed with Chihuahua) and we have had him at home ever since. It was so hot out that we just couldn't find it in our hearts to not take him in.
The problem is that we have a dog and although our dog is calm, this pomchi does NOT like our dog. It is getting difficult to have him but we do not want to take him to a shelter :(
We have already put his picture up in the ring app, pawboost, a Facebook lost pets group, my dad knocked on houses in our neighborhood and we have even made flyers for this sweet dog..but nothing yet.
What if we don't find the owner? We cannot keep him for too long. In our city it is a minimum of 2 weeks till a lost dog can be rehomed (and I think that's the max we could keep him at home) My concern is that although this dog is super cute, he is an older dog (I can tell from how he walks, teeth and his eyes) so I fear no one will want him and I really don't want to have to take him to a shelter. That is why we are doing our best to help this baby even though it is hard because of our dog.
Any tips greatly appreciated!!!
TLDR : we found a cute lost dog, can't keep him for long because we have another dog, don't want to take him to a shelter..but so far no luck on finding the owner. What is the best thing we can do to help this poor pup if we cannot find the owner or find a good home to take him in?
