I have had two cats for almost 10 years. Olive is very skittish, high stress, etc. She hides from our two kids most of the day, but they don’t bother her and she doesn’t bother them. We have all lived peacefully for years, no problems.
Recently we tried putting a deep freezer in the room with the litter box. She got really mad and peed and pooped on my bed. Took her to the vet, got a small uti treated, moved freezer. Kept her isolated a week, then back to normal.
Ever since then, it seems like she has started peeing on my bed WHENEVER something slightly discomforts her. The recycle can was in front of the food bowl while I mopped: pees on my bed. Toddler goes in the spare bedroom (her room): she pees on my bed. She’s peed on it three times in two weeks now. It’s progressively getting worse.
Someone PLEASE tell me whyyyyyyy. I’ll take her back to the vet if it’s really necessary, but she’s hard to catch and my husband is out of town. So I’m trying to avoid that if I can. Has she just figured out it’s her way to be spiteful? We’ve had her for 9 years and this hasn’t started happening until the past 4 months.
