Adopting a pup

I haven’t looked for a dog in 14 years and it feels so strange looking for one during this time with this pandemic. I felt like the whole process was very difficult and daunting. We finally found one we think will work with our family. She’s a 7 month toy poodle and we are so excited. I can’t even go to bed I’m so eager. I usually play with a dog in person before making a decision but I hope she transitions easily to our home. I work a shift before we pick her up. Since I’m rusty (it’s been a while since I’ve had to train a dog), does anyone have some wisdom or tips to share with me for an easier transition for her? She is coming from a completely different timezone and we haven’t met the pup yet.
