I am expecting to be approved for an adoption tomorrow (they just have to call my references and then I’m good to go) but we had a death in my household tonight and some of my family members are feeling like they really can’t handle the stress of a puppy in the house right now (which I totally understand). I am thinking about asking the foster parent/adoption coordinator (they’re one in the same) if I can pay the adoption fee and wait an additional two weeks before picking up the dog? I would be more than willing to pay for the pup’s care in the meantime. Has anyone ever tried this? Is it a totally absurd thing to ask?
