Our vet had encouraged us to start feeding our 5 year old overweight cat wet food, to help with satiety. It had been going well for almost a year, we had to first use store bought wet food to slowly transition to the vet healthy stuff.
But then, randomly tonight she started wiping the area where the food goes with her paw. Which she only does when she doesn't like something, or in the litter. She's purring and begging for food, but just won't eat it. She's still eating her hard food, but will just stand around the wet one purring, meowing, and following us to and from the fridge. I tried cleaning the dish area, giving it to her room temp and cold.
I'm worried something could be wrong, but it's odd that she's fine eating the hard food, and seems perfectly normal otherwise.. Also, she's clearly hungry. Any thoughts?
