Hi,
this stupid idea is something I do with my sister's dog(a female boxer) when I play with her.
she(the dog) has so much energy and will run at her current toy with extreme focus, sometimes completely ignoring the surrounding - which caused her a few injuries when she was left unsupervised.
aside from the normal way of making her run after the toy I sometimes hold it and run around to do some exercise myself but this isn't the thing I wanted to talk about.
the actual stupid thing, that really confuses her, is when I just pick her up(carefully), instead of the toy, and take her to the other side of the house(or the yard, but it's really hot lately).
after that just put her down and let her run to the toy as if I threw it.
I usually do it when she becomes overly aggressive as the time being held in "timeout" or whatever just stop her from acting like the Tasmanian Devil from the Looney Tunes(which happens less often as she grows up) or when I just feel like confusing the Heck out of her.
