I adopted my first cat by myself after living with several cats for years when living with the rest of the family. I had always wanted a companion of my own once I got a house, and now that I do have my house I got a cat. My cat has been more skittish than what I've been used to and hasn't been cuddly with me so far. He also keeps meowing and running around at night, so I've been keeping him in his safe room, but I feel bad. Even though it's only been about a week, I feel like I'm failing him and worry that he'll never get closer and calm down. Am I just overreacting about this fear and just keep doing what I'm doing?
