So my roommate has been talking about getting a cat recently, he just hasn't really been actively looking. I know he really wants one and I think his only concern is that my fiance is allergic to cats. The thing is, he's not too concerned about it. We don't have any carpeting in the house and there is very little upholstery aside from beds and such. I've had cats before but they were always free roam. My question is, will a cat be content living in one room/one floor of the house? Our roommate has the entire upstairs to himself and we rarely go up there besides using the gaming room. We want to get him a kitten for his birthday in a couple months but I don't want to do so if confining him/her to the upstairs is a bad idea.
