Our King Charles Cavalier, Hugo, is 6 months old now and I would like to get a cat to join our household. Hugo is somewhat of a live wire and is still learning how to be a dog, but generally speaking is a good boy who is learning quickly. Of course whatever cat we get needs to be able to live with a dog and I do not want to force anything that won't work as it's not fair on either animal. I am considering getting a cat between approx. 6 months-18 months (young enough to be up for the dog's play but old enough to put Hugo in his place if he is boisterous). I'm just curious how similar scenarios have worked out with fellow Redditors? I am very much still in the doing my homework stage and will not move ahead with anything until I have a solid plan.
