Hey guys, so I just got a new kitten and here’s the thing. He keeps pooping wherever he is standing at the time he has to poop, that being the bed, carpet, etc. And the funny part is that he knows how to use the litter box. Once I put him there or whenever we put him in his saferoom (since we’re still trying to get my older cat used to him) at night, he does his business there with no problem. He also meows a lot when he’s about to go as a way of saying “I have to poop now take me to the box” but he himself doesn’t move. I have made him follow me to where the box is, I have showed it to him multiple times, and he knows how to use it but somehow if it’s not near him he’ll just squat and go. He’s like 6-7 weeks old. Very small so I’m guessing that might be the reason why but idk. I would really appreciate some tips because as much as I love him and am willing to clean after him, it’d be a lot easier if he just walked towards it and used it when he has to. Especially since I’ll start working soon.
