Our 6-months old Exotic shorthair female cat has developed an annoying habit of starting to bite/nibble feet and hands frequently, especially feet. It started maybe a few months ago and wasnt very frequent at all, but has gotten more and more frequent and now it happens all the time. For example when I walk past by her she might take a shot at nibbling at my toes. Super annoying. She hasnt had the female version of a cat vasectomy if that matters (not sure what the exact term is).
So far I've read that that cats dont respond well to negative reactions like shouting, and the way to combat this kind of behaviour would be to either 1) give them a toy to play with or 2) turn your back and walk away. However, I dont always have a toy near me, and sometimes I can't or don't want to just leave where I am staying and walk away, if I'm on the sofa watching TV for example.
What can I do? I love the little girl to death but she's getting pretty annoying lol
