Resident cat won't come out of hiding after new cat!

Hey! I decided to foster a blind kitten for a week and brought her here last night, and this makes it the 1st day.

I had brought the kitten home after picking her up from the vet (for spaying & eye surgery) & placed her in the restroom. However, I forgot to close the door & my resident cat came to look. To my surprise, there was little to no reaction at all, and she just left the area and went to sleep.

From here, isolating them began & both cats fell asleep. Within a few hours, my resident cat woke up and I decided to show her the new cat once more. (For context: my bedroom has a walk-in toilet so the bedroom is pretty much my resident cats territory) When she got a good look at the cat, she ran back to where she was sleeping and pretty much became aloof. This is where I decided to take a step back and take things slow, so I closed the door for tonight.

In the meantime, I did scent swapping by rubbing the new cat's scent onto tissue paper and letting my resident cat sniff it. She did not hiss or swat, but she did react with a Flehmen Response.

I slept through the night sound, but my cat was noticeably spooked for the rest of the night.

Now, this morning, my resident cat bolted out of the bedroom and has been hiding in the living room ever since. She always refused to the leave the bedroom since she liked it there, and now I feel terrible. She hasn't used her litterbox, or eaten much since but I have brought her bowls to her and she ate a little. As of now, she has occasionally come to the bedroom to investigate and she knows the other cat is in the toilet. Her litterbox used to stay there, but for this week I moved it to our bedroom.

Any advice? Did I do this wrong? Will my resident cat have accidents? Both cats are very friendly & it's still the 1st day so I'm hoping things get better by day 2.
