Hello!
We recently adopted a stray cat that had been coming to our house for the past 3 months. She was pretty timid at first, but for the last couple of weeks she slowly let us pet her, and eventually she was waiting at our door everyday to try and get in our house. Since the weather is getting very cold, and we’ve established a very close bond with her, we decided to take her to the vet and groomer so that we can adopt her.
It has been two days since we have let her into our house. I’ve never had a cat before, so I don’t know what “normal” cat behaviour is, but because she’s a stray I wanted to gain the insight of other people who have also embarked on this endeavour.
So she has generally been pretty calm, but during the night and early morning she goes to the windows and doors and meows to be let out. She generally sleeps during the entire day and isn’t really that engaged when we try to play with her. Today she hid under our bed for an hour until we had to gently push her out.
I’m just really worried that she’s depressed or has something else going on. The vet said that she’s completely healthy, so I don’t really know what to do. If anyone else has had a similar experience, please let me know!!!
