For starters, I love my cat. He’s amazingly affectionate, silly, and an absolute joy to play with.
Ever since I moved to my new place, it’s been non-stop urination. I’ve been here 2 months and he has peed on my bed and couch upwards of 40 times. I’ve tried getting him on a schedule of feedings and playtime. I’ve bought new toys and scratching posts, I’ve tried the scent idea where I mark several spots around the house with essential oils (so he can have a sniff scavenger hunt). He was recently seen by a vet right before I moved so I’m assuming it’s just behavioural. As his litter box is frequently used by himself, and I clean it daily without fail. I don’t know whether he is bored, or has separation anxiety because I’m working and going to school so much, but this can’t continue. I’m absolutely exhausted to come home to piss on my couch after a 10 hr shift. I’ve closed my bedroom door when I’m not home to avoid him peeing on my mattress.
What do I do??? I don’t have much money to spend aside from his essential checkups and food/litter. I’m just so angry.
I know he doesn’t do it out of spite or malice. It’s likely anxiety related. But I’m starting to hate my cat.
