As title says I just adopted a year old cat..I feel guilty for having these thoughts but now that the cat is home she's really high energy. Meows a lot and wants attention. I've played with her like 5 times for a few minutes each time and its only been a few hours. I'm worried I won't be able to keep up with her energy. I was torn between this cat and another cat, but now I regret choosing this one over the calmer one. I had an older cat that passed away a few years ago..and I miss how chill she was. Now I'm thinking I should've never gotten such a young cat. I couldn't remember my old cat being this high energy when she was a kitten. I think I liked the other cat more but this cat had been at the shelter longer and I think my family member preferred her over the other one so I just chose her. I've never considered returning a shelter animal before this but I'm anxious over this whole thing.
