I just adopted a cat today and she's really skittish and shy but is slowly warming up. I've been letting her take her time exploring my room and she's been doing so at her own pace, occasionally letting me pet her. She has a litter box and whatnot and has even explored near it but about 30 minutes ago she decided to pee on my bed instead of going into the box. I'm not actually sure what to do as every cat I've had has just instinctively known to use the litter box. Do you think this was a one time stress thing or should I be concerned? And how do I fix it. I don't want to get rid of her, but my family whom I live with might make me if this becomes a regular thing so I need to fix it ASAP. I am so clueless.
