So about 2-3 weeks ago we took my cat into the vet because he had an infection on his chin. When we got him back, the vet told us he’s overweight and scored a 7/9 on the scale. I started to stop feeding him so much, and now give him around a cup of food a day. He weighed in at 12.8 pounds, and I assume 10-11 pounds is more of the ideal. I do not feed him at night, but my family constantly tries to feed him because he’s whining. It’s honestly starting to irritate me when I’m trying to keep my cat healthy. Any advice for family members that think the vet doesn’t know what they’re talking about? Am I doing something wrong? And is this the wrong place to ask? Thank you.
