I (21M) will be graduating college in May. I accepted a job in accounting and will start in August or September of next year. Next summer I'll be living at home in the midwest with my family to save some money and I'll move back up to the east coast when I start my job.
I have always had dogs, and I would love to have one on my own. I was considering rescuing one when I go home in May, and I can house train it and everything then. My family currently has two chihuahuas, so I think it would be a great environment to deal with the early days of adopting a new pet. Is this a good idea, or is it just stupid to get a dog before I start my job? In the midwest, we have a huge yard in the suburbs, but on the east coast I would be in an urban apartment, possibly with roommates. Do you have any advice for dealing with a pet when you have roommates? Do you have experience with a dog in a small apartment? Thank you!
