My cat is half persian and will be about 13 years old when I'm planning on moving to Japan. I really want to take him with me, but I'm worried that the stress of the 14 hour flight might actually kill him (both because of his age and his somewhat flatter than average face). If he did fly with me, he would be in the cabin with me (and likely not medicated unless it was for some reason recommended by two or more vets).
I'm aware of all of the shots and quarantine procedures that are required to bring a pet to Japan and I'm not so much worried about those. I also don't care about the price of doing it.
My alternative to taking him with me is to abandon my dream of moving to Japan with really no other career opportunities.
I just need advice, especially if anyone has any ideas on alternative ways to transport him or if anyone has experience moving abroad with older / flat faced pets. Thanks!
