Hi,
Let me start off by saying my cat has been and will continuing to be going to more than one vet, so that’s covered.
My 4 year old, indoor-only, otherwise healthy cat developed a growth in his ear and one in his throat. They were both described by my vet as “weird” and many variations of the word weird. They didn’t present as anything he’s ever seen and he’s not a new vet. They were also not the same thing, whatever they are/were.
He was able to remove the ear one and that biopsy came back benign. A specialist needs to remove the throat one, and that biopsy came back inconclusive but they guessed at three types of cancer it COULD be. But it closed with them basically saying they really didn’t know. I requested all the documentation to read over.
Which brings me to my question - has anyone ever experienced their pet having a “weird” growth with an inconclusive biopsy? Any insights or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I am worried sick about my baby and feel really scared about possibly sending him into major surgery next week without a clearer understanding of what’s going on with him. I know none of you can tell me anything for sure, but it would be interesting to hear from anyone who had something similar happen, as all I’ve heard so far are more questions and no answers. (not faulting the vets - anomalies are anomalies)
Thank you in advance!
