okay, well. i have a cat, i’d say she’s about 2-3 years old. she gave birth a while ago to 4 kittens. 1 was stillborn, 1 went missing, and now we’re left with two: vierna (a girl) and mochi (a boy). they are very close to each other, sleep with each other, lick each other, and the siblings play fight all the time and love each other. now, a wholeeeee lot of time has passed and vierna has just given birth to 4 kittens as well. 1 was squished (i think she may have sat on it by accident, which was very sad to see) and she is left with 3. her mother, charcoal, had also given birth. the problem is, i didn’t see any kittens. my sister said that she might have given birth to 2 and 1 of them died, but where could the other be? we don’t know if my sister miscounted or whatever other reason, but the mother gave birth in the same spot as her daughter, and i found them sleeping together with vierna’s kittens (3). they lay with each other, i’m pretty sure charcoal was either feeding one of vierna’s kittens or they were just kneading her tummy. but she licks them as if they are one of her own. i don’t know if it’s because she lost her own kittens, but it’s so fascinating to me that mother and daughter have this connection with each other that she’s even taking care of her daughter’s kittens. idk if this will give any context but, charcoal is a dark grey cat. her son (mochi) is grey as well, and her daughter (vierna) is grey with beige patches. one of her kittens looks like her, one is dark grey and the other is orange whiteish. could it be that they either got impregnated by the same male cat or that her mother and her just have a really tight bond? it seems like she has taken them in as her own (but they both share, in a way)
