My dog has a skin tumor that won’t heal.

I have a 13 year old poodle, and over the past couple of years he’s had a growth on his side that we originally thought was a cyst. The vet told us it’s some kind of growth and more than likely skin cancer, but my old boy has other problems that if they were to put him under to remove it, there’s a 99% chance that he wouldn’t wake up. It doesn’t seem to hurt him, but the main issue is that there’s multiple holes in it that constantly leak pus and blood, and the vet said it’ll never fully heal. We have to clean it everyday or else it’ll get massively crusted in dried blood and pus. I’ll use hydrogen peroxide when finished and half of the time will cover it in a band aid with neosporin at night. Is this making it worse, or is there something I can do to help this thing try to heal a little? I’m so scared of this open wound getting infected and going into his blood stream, or even that the holes will get bigger until it’s just one gaping wound. How do I go about this and help him be as comfortable as possible while also keeping my bed sheets clean?
