As the title said, my wife and I just adopted a female beagle/pit bull/unknown puppy that is about 6 months old. She is small weighing only about 25 pounds. She loves to snuggle but also needs play time like any puppy would. Unfortunately for our cats, she likes to chase them around the house. She is afraid of stairs so the cats can and do retreat to the basement when they are scared, but one specifically won’t come up anymore. Another one is ok being chased and playing with the dog and the third asserted dominance by growling/chasing away the dog when it gets to close. Are there any tips for socializing a shy cat and meaner cat with a dog that likes to play?
