On and off sick kitten

  • I rescued a shelter kitten on 9/9 at 11 weeks old. He has been sick off and on for about a month now. When he came to us he was fine the first day but then he was lethargic, sleeping all day and night, not really eating/drinking, had liquid diarrhea, was vomiting, you name it. We made 6 trips to the vet and they seemed to help in the end.
  • For a week and a half he was doing so much better, he was full of energy, playing, eating like crazy, drinking normal, acting like a normal kitten should, his vomiting was gone and his stools went back to normal minus a little bit of blood occasionally.
  • Then yesterday I noticed he was sleeping a bit more than usual, but he was still pretty alert and active, he wasn't eating as much as normal but still was eating good, and he started drinking kind of excessively.
  • Well this morning I went down to check his dry food that we leave out, which usually has a substantial dent in it to find that he maybe ate once there was a small dent, and he refused to eat his canned food even with tuna water added. He is still drinking excessively, and his liquid diarrhea has returned and had a little bit of blood in it. He will still play if I initiate it but isn't really playing on his own.

I'm so frustrated, they said he had coccidia when I took him and he got put on Albon which we think made him worse so we took him off after 4 days per vet suggestion and he seemed to make a complete turn around in a good way. He was doing so good for over a week and a half and I just don't understand why it came back. He isn't vomiting so far (🤞🏼) but I am worried about him once again. I just feel like I worry about him constantly, wondering if he will be ok.
