Okay, so, my cat (Beans, 5 months old, male) stopped eating yesterday. My neighbor gave me two cans of food last week that I had my cat try are different from what he usually eats, and he really liked one of the cans. So, I thought, “maybe now he’s being picky.” However, he has eaten his food since then.
Yesterday I woke up to him not eating any of his breakfast. I feed him one-third a 3 oz can three times a day. So, I dumped that food and put more down. He acted hungry and seemed completely normal. Once I got home for the day, I found some throw up under my dining table. In the throw up was a penny. I’m not sure if he threw it up or if he threw up on it, but I was concerned. He eat a few bites of dinner, and then he didn’t eat.
I tried giving him different flavors of his can (I get a multi pack), and nothing. Not dry, not can, nothing.
So, this morning, I wake up and he seems hungry. Well, he didn’t eat at all. He sniffed his food and acted like he was gonna eat, but that’s it. He didn’t eat.
I’m really scared. I lost my job due to the pandemic and literally can’t afford to take him to a hospital, and all the cheap vets in my area are closed. What do I do? Should I freak out? Please help, I can’t sleep, eat, or do my work.
