We've got two indoor british shorthairs, about 1 1/2 years old. We'd previously been feeding them poor quality dry food. Not too many issues, but their poop stunk the house out and they were pooping a lot! I wanted them to have better, so I gradually switched them over to a high quality wet food.
Their poop no longer smells, but now they're acting insane! Anytime of day (even after eating) they're just constantly on the search for more food. I can't go near the kitchen without them meowing (the volume might as well be screaming lmho) and tripping us over! They even keep bugging our chihuahuas for the dog food.
I'm feeding them the appropriate amount according to the feeding guide... but they're going absolutely beserk. They're more on the lean side but you can't feel ribs or anything and they look okay, nice shiny coats, very active... I just don't know what's wrong with them!? In most cases, I'd take them to the vets, but our local vet is basically not functioning due to the virus, and we can't travel to any other vets.
Anyone here have a pointer of what might be wrong? Is this just some kind of temporary effect from changing their food? Should I ignore the feeding guide and give them more? Should I try giving them some dry food to graze on overnight?
