Why do I raise aggressive cats?

My cats LOVE me. My recently deceased 17 year old grew to tolerate others, my 10 year old dismisses other people until they take up too much of my time, then becomes actively aggressive towards them unprovoked. Neither could be handled at the vet. Just left the second vet of the week who refused treatment due to aggressiveness, saying that she needs to be sedated before I try taking her elsewhere. I know they aren’t exaggerating, as Pre-Covid, I could HEAR what sounds like a demon exorcism, and can recognize my cats voices even when vile, and ultimately always end up being the handler, whether they bring the shots to the room, or I go into the off limits back to hold them for blood draws. Now that I have to wait in the car, my scaredy cat can’t get vaccines.

I’ll get that figured out... but, I want to know-

HOW AM I RAISING THEM WRONG?

My cats hate everyone who isn’t me. They are/were melty butter sticks in my arms, drooling purring bread-making lovey doves who sit where I sit, resting a paw somewhere on me.

I do not mistreat them. My company never has. They are greeted with soft voices, treats, toys, or catnip by my visitors.

They were street rescues as older kittens, one nearing forever feral, one happy to see a human. But, this can’t be the explanation?!

What causes a cat to become so codependent on one particular human that everyone has labeled them as aggressive and mean and are baffled when I talk about them in a loving manner? I have to video them being them because NO ONE believes my cats to be sweet and loving.

I’m soo jealous that other people have cats who can be pet by others
