Our puppy has been scratching his ears and crying for about a month now. After a day of him doing this my mom checked his ears and saw black ear wax and a funky smell. She went to the pet shop to get some ear drops.
For the first few times he would just sit there and let her put them in. But one day she forgot to warm them up and he hated it. Now it’s a big fight to get them in, even when he’s calm/tired. The black hunk was almost gone, but has now come back because we can’t get the drops in. We got some in yesterday, and he was ANGRY at us. We calmed him down and he forgave us eventually but he refuses to let us put them in. He won’t even let my mom put a warm paper towel on the sore ear. We’re gonna call the vet but would prefer to wait until after Covid has died down in my area to actually go unless it’s serious.
Is this possibly really serious? And how do we get the little guy to trust us again? He doesn’t seem to know I was in on it, but runs away from my mom when she tries to sit on the floor with him. Poor boy.
